Looking for a sweet chocolatey cinnamon treat this Autumn? Then these doughnuts are for you. With our new chewy chocolate plantain bites running through the middle and a drizzle of chocolate on top, these doughnuts are to die for.
Makes: 6 doughnuts
1 1/2 cups oats
1 cup medjool dates
2 tbsp CHOC Chick Blissful Blends - cacao and cinnamon
1-2 tbsp of water - if the dates aren't sticky enough
½ cup almond butter
3 tbsp CHOC Chick raw cacao butter beans (18 beans), melted
3 x 30g CHOC Chick plantain bites
Topping
CHOC Chick Simple Raw chocolate (recipe can be found here), melted
30g CHOC Chick plantain bites, chopped
Put the oats into a food processor and blend until they have ground into a flour, then add in the dates, almond butter, blissful blend powder and cacao beans and pulse until a dough forms. If the mixture does not stick together, add in 1-2 tbsp. water and pulse again.
Remove the lid and stir in the plantain bites.
Press approx. ¼ cup of the dough into a doughnut pan* and then place in the fridge to firm up. Or pop them in the freezer to speed things up.
Remove the doughnuts from the tray and place on a piece of baking paper. Drizzle over the raw chocolate and stick the plantain bites on top
Return the doughnuts to the fridge until you are ready to eat
* we used a 6 cup doughnut pan measuring 12 x 8 inches, with a doughnut size of 3.25 diameter.
