It’s officially hot chocolate season! Indulge in this homemade peppermint hot chocolate, it’s totally scrumptious and perfect for cold cosy evenings, weekends or whenever you need a warm chocolatey pick me up.
Makes: 1 cup
Ingredients, Makes 1 cup
4 tsp CHOC Chick cacao powder
1 ½ cup (360ml) dairy-free milk (we used oat)
1 tbsp maple syrup
½ tsp peppermint extract
2 tbsp dairy-free cream
Dairy-free whipped cream
A sprinkle of raw chocolate (recipe here)
In a small pan, stir together the cacao powder and ½ cup of the milk, to make a thick paste.
Then gradually stir in the rest of the milk, the maple syrup , peppermint extract and dairy-free cream.
Gently heat, and just before the hot chocolate comes to a boil, remove from the heat and serve immediately.
Serve with whipped cream, a candy cane and a sprinkle of raw chocolate
