Chocolate Chilli Hummus

A delicious twist on the classic hummus, with cacao and chilli. This smokey spicy dip is perfect for summer lunches and savoury snacking, served with summer crudites or tortilla chips.

Chocolate Chilli Hummus

3 CHOC Chick cacao butter buttons
1 red onion, chopped
 1 x 400g chickpeas, drained
1 ½ tbsp CHOC Chick cacao powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp chopped chilli
3 garlic cloves, roasted
3 tbsp tahini
¼ cup + 2 tbsp dairy-free milk
A pinch of salt
 
To Serve (optional)
 Chilli oil
Tortilla chips
Crudites - radishes, baby carrots, sugar snap peas, peppers

Chocolate Chilli Hummus    Chocolate Chilli Hummus

Place a small pan over a medium-high heat and add in the cacao buttons.

Once melted, add in the chopped red onion and saute until softened.Remove from the heat, and transfer the onions into a blender along with the remaining ingredients.

Blend until smooth and creamy, taste and add in more salt / chilli if needed. Serve in a bowl, with a little chilli oil and crudites.
