Brownie Batter Milkshakes

These indulgent brownie batter milkshakes make for the ultimate CHOCtastic treat. Serve with our homemade chocolate brownie, dairy-free cream and a drizzle of raw chocolate sauce for the best vegan shake!

Makes: 2

Vegan Milkshake
25g (¼ cup) CHOC Chick cacao powder
3 Medjool dates
¼ cup hazelnuts
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp CHOC Chick cacao nibbles
480ml (3 cup) hazelnut milk
1 brownie, see recipe below
A handful of ice
1 cup (140g) almond butter (or nut butter of choice)
35g (¼ cup + 2 tbsp) CHOC Chick cacao powder
60g (½ cup) plain flour (can be gluten-free)
120ml (½ cup) maple syrup
60ml (¼ cup) dairy-free milk
1 tbsp CHOC Chick cacao butter, melted 
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
Other Toppings
15g CHOC Chick quinoa pops, crushed
15g CHOC Chick plantain bites, crushed
 Dairy-free squirty cream
A sprinkle of chopped roasted hazelnuts
Raw chocolate sauce 
25g CHOC Chick cacao butter
1.5 tbsp CHOC Chick cacao powder 
1-2 tbsp maple syrup (to taste)

Pre-heat the oven to 180c and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
Add all of the ingredients for the brownie into a food processor and process until you have a smooth chocolatey batter.
Transfer the batter into the lined pan, and bake for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool completely, before cutting into 6 slices.

Meanwhile make the chocolate sauce: Melt 25g cacao butter in a bowl over a pan of water on a low heat

Mix in the 1.5 tbsp cacao powder and maple syrup to taste. Mix well with a metal balloon whisk and taste to add more sweetness if desired. You’ll have a lovely runny texture, remove from the bowl from the heat and let cool slightly before painting the jars and pouring the raw chocolate sauce.
Brownie Batter Milkshakes
To decorate the glasses / jars, paint the melted raw chocolate around the edge of each glass. Once semi dry, stick the crushed quinoa pops and plantain bites to the chocolate and then set to one side to dry completely.
Add all of the ingredients for the milkshakes to a blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.
Pour the milkshake between the two glasses. Top with a brownie, dairy-free cream, a sprinkle of hazelnuts and some raw chocolate sauce.
