Organic Raw Cacao Butter Cacao Butter is the edible natural vegetable fat of the cacao bean. Our Choc Chick Kits include organic cacao butter which is cold pressed from the cocoa (Theobroma cacao) seed/bean. This cold pressed method ensures all the natural nutrients of the cacao bean are retained. Cacao Butter itself is a very stable fat, containing natural antioxidants that prevent rancidity and give it a storage life of two to five years (please refer to individual packages for best before dates). Nutritionally the fat in cocoa butter is made up of oleic acid (a heart-healthy monounsaturated fat also found in olive oil), considered a good fat and known to reduce cholesterol. As cacao Butter tends to melt quite easily,  please ensure to melt the butter gently over a low heat and be careful not to boil in order to preserve the natural nutrients and antioxidants. Once you have made your chocolates, these should be stored in the freezer or fridge.
