Lovely Swedish Chocolate Balls – (Chokladboll in Swedish!)


My lovely assistant Alisa has been back home in Sweden all summer and will be continuing her studies in London soon, which is great for her but sad for me as I will miss her help, lovely smile and quirkiness (or is that her Swedishness?)

So, in her honor, this month’s recipe is for lovely Swedish chocolate balls or ‘chokladboll’ which are super easy and delicious and will remind me of how much fun Alisa has been to work with. Thank you my dear for all your hard work over the past year, good luck with your studies and hope you enjoy this recipe!

Swedish Chocolate Balls
Lovely Swedish Chocolate Balls – (Chokladboll in Swedish!)
Ingredients:

  • 100g rolled oats
  • 3tbsp Sweet Freedom / Agave Syrup
  • 3 tbsp CHOC Chick raw cacao powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp strong coffee (allow to cool)
  • 50g butter, cubed and very soft
  • desiccated coconut/raw cacao powder to decorate

~ makes approx 30
Directions:

  1. Mix together the oats, Sweet Freedom and raw cacao in a bowl.
  2. Add the butter, vanilla extract and coffee. Mix and scrunch with your hands until you have a well combined thick dough.
  3. Put the coconut/cacao powder in a shallow bowl. Pick off some dough and shape into small balls then roll them in the coconut.
  4. Place chocolate balls in the fridge for a few hours and enjoy at room temperature.
