It’s definitely back to school, back to life and back to reality for us this month. So this September we’ve got some CHOCtastic recipes to help us start and end our days on a healthy raw chocolate high.
To start our day we’ve got two gorgeous raw chocolate spread recipes which are perfect on wholemeal toast and a fantastic alternative to Nutella.
This is a super indulgent but still healthy chocolate spread recipe that can be made at the weekend and enjoyed all week.
Ingredients
Directions
Pour into a plastic tub or glass jar and leave to set in the fridge for 2-3 hours or in the freezer for around 45 minutes (it’s simply gorgeous spread on warm bread just as the cacao butter is beginning to set). Store in the fridge and leave out for around 10-15 minutes before spreading (try not to eat it all up with a spoon though!!).

Place ingredients in a bowl and whisk vigorously to blend everything together and hey presto, your healthy chocolate spread is ready to enjoy!
Our decadently healthy CHOC Truffles recipe is incredibly simple and can also be made into delicious gluten and dairy free brownies. My girls and their friends absolutely love these truffles/brownies and they make ideal lunch box or after school treat.
I tend to make them on Sunday morning with my daughter Ella and whatever we don’t eat during the day (I do have to hide most of them!) we use during the week instead of sugar laden cereal bars. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients
Directions
Soak the pitted dates in warm water for around 5 minutes. Blend the pecan nuts, coconut and dates in a food processor (keep the warm water used to soften the dates and add a little bit to the mix to help blend and moisten).

Add the raw cacao powder and the agave syrup and blend well.
Place mixture in a bowl and mix well (have a little taste it’s absolutely delish). Roll spoonfuls of the mix into round balls and roll in the cacao powder.
For brownies, simply roll/spread out the entire mix on baking paper and cut into squares (try spreading some of our healthy chocolate spread over the brownies for a divine frosting). Chill the truffles/brownies in the fridge for half an hour to an hour and enjoy!
