Raw chocolate ice cream and CHOCalicious summer smoothie

Hooray the sun has been out and shining bright so far this month and what better way to chill and enjoy the weather than with a cool raw chocolate smoothie or some raw chocolate ice cream?
CHOCalicious summer smoothie

Super simple to make, this CHOCsmoothie is a great start to your day or as lunchtime shake. It’s CHOCfull of antioxidant goodness, high in magnesium and raw cacao goodness (I’ve been drinking it regularly and it’s helped curb my appetite and improve my mood!).
Ingredients

  • 1 banana (can also add or substitute with strawberries and/or blueberries)
  • 2 tbsp raw cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp tahini paste or other nut butter (organic peanut butter or cashew nut butter is divine)
  • 1-2 tbsp Sweet Freedom or agave syrup (to taste)
  • 2 cups water or organic dairy or soya or rice milk
  • Handful of ice

 *Makes 2 large glasses

Directions

  • Place the banana (and other fruit), millk/water and ice in a blender
  • Blend well and add the tahini (or nut butter) and cacao powder and whizz till smooth
  • Add 1tbsp Sweet Freedom or Agave and blend. Taste and add more sweetener for a sweeter taste
  • Pour into glasses and enjoy!

This recipe can be adapted to make CHOCtastic raw chocolate ice cream or CHOC ices that are the perfect treat for these lovely sunny days (long may they last!).

Raw chocolate ice creamIngredients

  • 3 small or 2 large frozen bananas
  • 3 tbs raw cocoa powder
  • 2 tbs tahini paste or other nut butter (organic peanut butter is delish)
  • 2-3 tbs Sweet Freedom or agave syrup (to taste)
  • 2 cups water or organic dairy or soya or rice milk
  • Bueberries, strawberries and/or raspberries to top

Directions

  • Place the bananas, millk/water and ice in a blender
  • Blend well and add the tahini (or nut butter) and cacao powder and whizz till smooth
  • Add 1tbsp Sweet Freedom or Agave and blend. Taste and add more sweetener for a sweeter taste
  • Pour into a plastic tub and leave in the freezer to set for 2-3 hours
  • Remove from freezer and serve topped with fresh fruit

You can also make CHOC ices by pouring this mix into ice cube trays or empty yogurt pot, freezing for 2-3 hours and enjoying!

CHOCcreative Tip: Instead of throwing out over ripe bananas, wrap them in foil and pop them in the freezer, these will then make perfect frozen bananas for this recipe
