The Holiday Season is now upon us and our CHOCaliciously Decadent Christmas Chocolate Truffle Recipe is ideal for home made chocolate gifts. So we’ve kept this recipe up this month to ensure you can easily share the love and make unique gifts to hand out this Christmas (everyone I know will be getting these!).
It’s also been incredibly cold this December, so to warm ourselves up we’ve been making lots of Hot CHOC drinks to keep us going and on special occasions have even added some spices and brandy to make big pots of Mulled Hot CHOC. So this year forget the mulled wine and indulge in a bit of antioxidant rich mulled chocolate instead!
Ingredients

Gently melt the raw cacao butter in a bowl over a saucepan of water on a low heat. Once it's melted, add the raw cacao powder and agave syrup/Sweet freedom (taste it before it cools and experiment with the quantity, more powder makes a slightly harder mix but more chocolaty taste and more agave/Sweet Freedom obviously makes the chocolate sweeter). Once you have the right raw chocolate mix, turn off heat and beat in the butter, rum (or water), creame and almonds. Leave to set for around 40-45 minutes in the freezer. Remove from freezer when the mix has hardened and is easy to scoop up with a teaspoon.
Once the chocolate has set: Roll a teaspoon sized piece of the mixture in your hands until it is shaped like a ball. Roll it in raw cacao power, cinnamon or desiccated coconut and pop into little paper case. For a super decadent and more Christmassy taste, roll in icing sugar and cinnamon!
These truffles make glorious handmade Christmas presents. Just pop them in gift bags and share these amazing chocolates with everyone you love!
