Cacao Nibs Tea

Have you ever tried tea made from Cacao Nibs? Traditional cocoa tea is made with the cocoa shells, but I thought I’d try to make a tea with our Cacao Nibble. Cacao Nibs are high in antioxidant flavanols snd magnesium and a perfect pick me up. This Cacao Tea recipe is so easy to make and because our Cacao Nibbles are slightly sweetened with Yacon (a prebiotic root vegetable from Peru) it tastes absolutely delicious and doesn’t really need any added sugar. Here’s to a perfect cup of Cacao Nibs Tea!

2 tbsp (around 30g) CHOC CHICK Cacao Nibs Sweetened with Yacon
2 cups water
1 vanilla pod or 1tsp vanilla bean extract or vanilla paste
1 cinnamon stick or half a tsp cinnamon powder
Oat milk/Almond milk or dairy substitute (optional)

Add the cacao nibs, water, cinnamon stick, vanilla pod in a pan
Boil for 10 minutes
Strain or add to a tea pot with a filter and enjoy!
*You can add a drop of dairy substitute milk if desired but I love it on it's own and keep topping up the pot with more hot water
** Save the leftover nibs, cinnamon and vanilla bits and add to a cacao and banana smoothie for a lovely afternoon treat.
